Finger Lakes Engineering has developed a new tool called GTO - specifically designed for locating single or multiple components on a Printed Circuit Board.
Operation
GTO operates on the Top and Bottom Gerber silkscreen files, the Pick-n-Place file, and a formatted Bill Of Materials. GTO creates a composite view of the PCB by fusing the silkscreens, part list, and placement information into one single view.
GTO is an easy to use Graphical User Interface Tool specifically designed for rework technicians, assembly technicians, and PCB Assembly Contract Manufacturers.
Features and Benefits
GTO produces a unified PCB image by combining:
- Top and Bottom Gerber Silk-screens
- Pick-and-Place Drill Files
- Formatted (CSV) Bill-Of-Materials
The unified PCB Image allows a technician to easily perform tasks such as:
- Locate an individual component
- Locate a group of BOM line item components on the PCB
- Generate assembly notes that can be routed back to engineering for ECNs
- Produce automatically generated Symbol/Color coded assembly prints showing exactly what parts need to be located in what places on the PCB
In addition:
- GTO can work on small boards to high density boards with over 2000 parts.
- GTO eliminates the “hunt” for finding that “one part” you need to change on the PCB
- GTO can provide an immediate ROI for Contract Manufacturers by automating the pre-production assembly Symbol/Color coded print chart process
