The FLE Viper Video Capture Core is part of the Finger Lakes Engineering Viper Video technology suite.
The Viper Video Capture Core is targeting specifically for Microblaze applications seeking to capture video data from an external CMOS 1D/2D imager and directly transfer this video data to a frame buffer.
The Viper Video Capture Core is a bus-mastering PLB compliant core providing the following key features:
- Internal/External clock domain synchronization
- Supports input pixel clocks upto 60MHz in a Spartan-Class device
- Supports input pixel clocks upto 125MHz in a Virtex-Class device
- 16-bit data input path support any input format (RGB,YUV,RAW)
- Supports 2D imager Frame Valid and DataValid signals
- Supports a 1D imager DataValid signal (no FrameValid) as an option
- No CPU intervention required during video capture operations
- Continuous or “one-shot” mode
- Compliant with PLB 4.6 and provides an internal BusMaster function
- Supported through the FLE FUSION uCLinux system
- Can be used via a stand-along register driven interface
- FLE Can customize the core for specific user applications
