Reference Design

Finger Lakes Engineering is providing a free reference design for the Xilinx Spartan3AN-700 Eval Board.

The demo allows the user to quickly evaluate the basic functions of the FLE FUSION uCLinux operating system, Ethernet support, ftp server, and telnet server.

In addition, an optional daughter card can be purchased directed from Finger Lakes Engineering for the Spartan3AN-700 Eval Board. The daughter card provides a 256MB NAND Flash expansion, an I2S Compatible DAC, and preamplifier circuit.

Provided in the reference design image (and part of the FUSION toolchain) is a port of the LIBMAD MP3 software decoder. Combined with the optional daughter card, a 256MB NAND Flash filesystem will be automatically mounted at bootup and the user can upload MP3 audio files and play the audio back through the I2S Compatible DAC.

The reference design provides a 1-hour time limited eval copy of the FLE Lancer I2S DMA Audio controller. This core is capable of transferring a range of audio/data samples (without processor intervention) from the external DDR memory into an I2S Compatible DAC. • Free copy of the FLE LCD Driver for running character based LCD devices
